报告摘要:We investigate the itinerant ferromagnetism of repulsively interacting Fermi gases with spin-orbit coupling (SOC).
We find that the SOC provides a new and efficient mechanism to realize the itinerant ferromagnetism (FM)
which is a long sought state in material science at relatively weak repulsive interactions. Near the FM transition, the coexistence of two types of spin fluctuations with different dynamic exponents leads to new quantum-classical crossover regimes. In the FM side, the Fermi surfaces acquire a finite momentum and also experience a topological Lifshitz transition driven by the magnetization, the symmetry breaking leads to two gapped transverse pseudo-Goldstone modes instead of gapless Goldstone modes.
Various experimental probes of these new phenomena are discussed.
