The Characterization of Catalytically Active Sites on Nano-catalysts

摘 要：In this talk, I will first introduce a key concept, catalytically active site, in the field of heterogeneous catalysis. Then, one of my research projects, studying a nano-catalyst for the solution-phase synthesis of a complex molecule, will be presented as an example to show how to identify catalytically active site under reaction conditions. Finally, I will briefly discuss my on-going research intended to control catalytically active sites by external electric field.

个人简介：I am currently an associated specialist in Prof. Xiang Zhang's group in Dept. of Mechanical Engineering at UC, Berkeley. After receiving Ph.D. in theoretical chemical physics from New York University in 2003, I worked with Prof. William H. Miller and Prof. Gabor A. Somorjai at UC, Berkeley, studying quantum chemical reaction dynamics, and surface chemistry and catalysis.
