Periodic driving has become one useful and versatile tool in quantum engineering. In this talk, I will report that interesting nonequilibrium quantum phase transitions (QPTs) can be synthesized by engineering the formation of midgap bound state in Floquet quasienergy spectrum using periodic driving. I will clarify this idea by two examples. One example is to induce more colorful topological QPT in one-dimensional Kitaev model. A tunable number of topologically protected Majorana modes are generated in Kitaev model by a well-designed periodic driving, which may supply a novel way to identify the formation of the Majorana modes in the system. The other example is to induce large-Chern-number topological insulator phases in two-dimensional two-band model. The topological insulator phases with large and widely tunable Chern numbers can be triggered by periodic driving, which is exemplified in Haldane model. Our approach may lift experimental difficulties in material fabrication to realize the large-Chern-number topological phases.
2005年在兰州大学获得博士学位,并同年留校工作。2006年(4月)至2007 年(7月)在台湾成功大学量子资讯中心从事博士后2007年(10月)至2008年(9月)和2009年(9月)至2010年(9月)在新加坡国立大学物理系从事研究员2011年(1月)和2014年(12月)在新加坡国立大学量子技术中心从事访问研究员(每年4-6个月)2011年5月受聘为教授2013年入选教育部新世纪优秀人才支持计划。从事量子光学、量子信息及非平衡量子统计动力学研究。最近主要关注开放量子系统的退相干及其控制 和 周期性驱动诱导的非平衡量子相变 等研究。
